Authorities reported that twenty-five weather balloons were observed crossing into Lithuania from the adjacent country of Belarus, with two balloons ending up precisely above the aviation facility.
Approximately 14 of the weather balloons launched over the weekend drifted across the capital region, which is home to Lithuania's main urban center and adjacent to the frontier with Belarus.
